The purpose of this project is to study changes in the EEG background activity associated with cognitive processes.Event-Related Desynchronization is the phasic amplitude attention of EEG alpha rhytm occuring in relation to an event.ERD has earlier been observed in association with visual stimulation. This project, however, has focused on examining the reactivity of ERD, elicited by auditory stimuli, such as music and speech.ERD allows the study of cortical activation both spatially and temporally.
